Amasa, Michigan, March 23, 2009— The countdown to the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s Women’s Final Four® begins Thursday, March 27, as a semi-truck and trailer carrying the Championship Court leaves on The Road to the Final Four® for its journey to the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championships at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis on April 5 and 7.   The court was constructed in Amasa, Michigan at the plant of Connor Sport Court International, Inc.

Amasa, Michigan (PRWeb) March 20, 2009—The countdown to the National Collegiate Athletic Association®’s Final Four® begins Saturday, March 21, as a semi-truck and trailer carrying the Championship Court leaves Connor Sport Court’s Amasa, Michigan, plant on the first leg of its journey to the Men’s Basketball Playoffs at Ford Field in Detroit April 4 and 6.   The court was constructed in Amasa, Michigan at Connor Sport Court International’s mill. Painting of the surface has been completed, with the NCAA logos shining brightly on the Michigan hardwood maple floor.

"Specially constructed courts for the NCAA men's and women's tournaments can be purchased for about $100,000, said Jeff Morton, marketing manager for Connor Sport Court International, a Salt Lake City firm that manufactures the floors. Kansas bought the floor that its men's team won the title on in San Antonio last year and has been using pieces of it to raise funds. But it's not just championship-winning teams that buy them.

Oklahoma City, OK, Sept. 5—The newest National Basketball Association team--The Thunder--will start their first season on a brand new playing floor designed and installed for the Ford Center in Oklahoma City by Connor Sport Court International.   The name, colors and logo of the team were announced Wednesday.

Boston, MA, June 18, 2008—When the Boston Celtics won their 17th national championship Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Lakers, they won it on a Connor hardwood court with an unusual history.   An oak basketball court for the Celtics was first installed in the old Boston Gardens in 1946. In 1999 the Celtics asked Connor Sport Court International to build a new court in their new home, TD Banknorth Garden.
